Walsall 1-4 Leicester

Leicester's impressive surge to promotion continued as they thrashed Walsall at the Banks's Stadium.

Matty Fryatt got their first, running on to a back header from Jack Hobbs before Andy King struck for the second.

Fryatt created the chance for the lively Tom Cleverley to drive number three past home keeper Clayton Ince.

Steve Howard robbed Ince and scored from an angle for the fourth before Dwayne Mattis hooked the ball in for a late consolation for the home side.

Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson:
"It was a very good team performance. I think it was a pretty comprehensive win.

"We started the game very well and maintained the standards throughout the game. I don't think there was any period where we weren't on top.

"Even the spell in the second half where they threw a lot of bodies at us, we looked like scoring on the counter-attack.

"We have to keep being focused and single-minded on what we are trying to achieve this year. We're getting there. We are doing well and I'm delighted with the players."
