Promotion chasers Leeds and Brighton had to settle for a goalless draw as defences held firm at Elland Road.
Leeds almost scored on 14 minutes when Andy Whing made a magnificent goal-line clearance from Dougie Freedman's shot.
And Freedman went close again when he flicked Bradley Johnson's centre inches outside the far post.
Brighton had strong claims for a second-half penalty when Glenn Murray fell after a Jonathan Douglas tackle, but referee David Foster waved play on.
Brighton manager Dean Wilkins told BBC Southern Counties Radio: "I'm a little bit disappointed that we didn't win the game.
"But, on a positive note, we set ourselves a target in the last six matches and we've achieved that by getting a point today.
"That's a massive plus for everybody at the club. The players deserve a huge pat on the back and it sets us up nicely for the run-in."
