Blackpool 1-2 Sheff Wed
Sheffield Wednesday gained revenge for four defeats by Blackpool in the League and Cup last season with victory.

Just before half-time, Chris Marsden set up Lee Bullen, who opened the scoring from 15 yards.

Blackpool equalised on 55 minutes when Marsden fouled Martin Bullock and Rob Edwards curled in a superb free-kick.

The Owls grabbed the winner with 10 minutes left when Lewis McMahon evaded the offside trap and beat Sasa Ilic from 20 yards.

Blackpool: Ilic, McGregor, Flynn, Clare, Richardson, Parker (Barrowman 62), Robert Edwards, Wellens, Bullock, Murphy, Taylor.
