Nott'm Forest 3-2 Watford

A late strike from substitute Nathan Tyson gave Nottingham Forest a first win of the season to deny Watford.

Lee Martin lifted a shot in from 25 yards to put Forest ahead but Watford fought back equalising when Tommy Smith bundled in Leigh Bromby's flick-on.

Robert Earnshaw restored Forest's lead as he slotted in Guy Moussi's pass but Watford levelled again when Smith drilled in Lloyd Doyley's cross.

Tyson settled the match when he fired home from six yards on 69 minutes.

Forest boss Colin Calderwood:
"It was important to get our first win but I won't be writing home about it.

"If I hadn't been able to win a game in the Championship I would have been thoroughly disgusted with myself.

"I've always believed we've got players with a bit of flair and talent and now they have got the platform to show it."

Watford manager Aidy Boothroyd:
"We were like two Olympic boxers, flaying arms and everything but not terribly good when it came to defending.

"I like to think we are more professional defensively than that and perhaps it is a wake-up call for us.

"I thought we invited Forest on to us but they kept the ball better than us and scored some very good goals."
