QPR 2-2 Preston

QPR staged a remarkable late comeback with two last-minute goals to deny in-form Preston a sixth win from seven league games.

Neil Mellor opened the scoring with a clinical first-half volley and on-loan striker Tamas Priskin tucked home a neat right-foot effort from six yards.

But ex-Preston winger Gareth Ainsworth lobbed home in the 90th minute.

In stoppage time Ainsworth crossed for Dexter Blackstock to head a late equaliser and earn a battling point.

QPR manager Luigi De Canio:
"Gareth Ainsworth is an extraordinary individual.

"I know the character he is and how much he is respected by the other players, so I use that.

"He's not officially on the coaching staff, although that is a possibility in the future. His role at the moment is as a player."

Preston manager Alan Irvine:
"Everyone can see that we should have won the match. Undoubtedly, we were the better team.

"It wasn't a case of us losing our nerve. QPR just threw men forward because they had nothing to lose.   "We had four very good chances before we scored and in the second half we looked very comfortable. We're very disappointed."
