Hull 3-0 Preston
Hull produced a fantastic performance to sweep aside the challenge of struggling Preston at the KC Stadium.

Dean Windass headed in Hull's opener from five yards when he pounced on Fraizer Campbell's shot that ricocheted off Andy Lonergran and into his path.

Campbell scored the second with a low drive from the edge of the area before Andy Dawson added a third just after the hour with a sublime free-kick.

Andy Carroll went close for Preston but his drive was well saved by Bo Myhill.

  • Hull boss Phil Brown on following the win at Burnley:
"To get the second win is down to the planning and preparation after that and making sure the players stay grounded after a great result on Tuesday night.

"Everyone is talking about what a difference a week makes and we were under the cosh after last Saturday's performance at QPR and I think we've firmly put that to bed.

"Two clean sheets and two good performances have restored the faith, restored the confidence and restored the belief that we had before the QPR encounter."

  • Preston boss Paul Simpson:
"It was the worst performance of the season by far. As professional players they have to take pride in their performances and I don't think there were enough levels of pride showing in the performance and work ethic.

"That's from a group of footballers that I trust and unfortunately I think they've let themselves down. I'm really disappointed by what I've seen from my players.

"Everyone has to now go and have a long, hard look at themselves. I will go and look at the team selections and I hope the players go away and have as tough a time as I'm going to have this weekend."
