Leicester 3-0 Coventry
Defender Matt Heath celebrates after scoring Leicester's third of the match
Matt Heath's 72nd-minute goal put the game out of Coventry's reach
New Leicester boss Craig Levein's first home match in charge ended in a convincing victory over Coventry.

Lilian Nalis' 27th-minute goal from distance put his side in the lead.

Danny Tiatto doubled Leicester's lead in first-half injury time as Coventry struggled to get a grip on the game despite using a five-man midfield.

Rohan Ricketts hit the post for the Sky Blues after the break, but Matt Heath's 72nd-minute header had already put the game beyond the visitors.

  • New Leicester manager Craig Levein:

"The important thing was that we won the match, and I was really pleased with the clean sheet.

"When a new manager arrives there is always a level of expectation and that was certainly apparent.

"Overall it was a very pleasant experience. People here are ambitious and the supporters are ambitious.

"We continued the improvement we showed against Crewe and in training. It was important that that manifested itself on the pitch where it matters."

  • Coventry manager Peter Reid:

"Usually we compete in games, but tonight we just didn't.

"Never mind the goals - we lost tackles and gave the ball away easily. I don't think we made it hard enough.

"For some reason we didn't have the stomach for the battle or the game. It was particularly disappointing."
