Watford 1-1 Wolves

Wolves salvaged a point with an injury-time goal by Kevin Cooper after Neil Cox had given Watford the lead.

Despite an abundance of chances from both sides it took Watford until the second half to break the deadlock before Cooper struck with the late equaliser.

Wolves began on the offensive and were denied early on by Watford keeper Alec Chamberlain, who kept out George Ndah's fierce header and a Cooper free-kick.

Chamberlain's opposite number Matt Murray was also able to showcase his talents, tipping over a header from Heidar Helguson and then punching clear Neil Ardley's corner.

He also blocked a powerful 20-yard shot from Kenny Miller.

Deflected shot

Watford were proving dangerous on the break and Dominic Foley saw two near misses fly past the woodwork in quick succession.

Watford's let offs gave them hope and Allan Neilsen saw a fierce shot blocked by Lescott before a 35-yard blast by Stephen Glass went just wide.

After the break Watford assumed control and the pressure finally told in the 67th minute when skipper Cox met an outswinging corner from Ardley and headed home from six yards.

Wolves refused to play dead and in the 90th minute Cooper's deflected shot found the net after Watford failed to clear a Marc Edworthy cross.
