Darlington 0-0 Mansfield

Mansfield missed the chance to close the gap on the top five after they were held to a goalless draw at Darlington.

Danny Mitchley saw an early header saved by goalkeeper Sam Russell, who also kept out Luke Medley's late shot.

The Stags were left to rue an offside call that saw a Paul Connor shot ruled out but the Quakers also had chances.

Liam Hatch saw his fierce effort produce a decent stop from Stags keeper Neil Collett, while Ian Miller and Greg Taylor also spurned chances late on.

Both sides suffered injury blows with Mansfield losing Adam Murray while Hatch and Modest had to come off for the hosts.

Darlington boss Mark Cooper tells BBC Tees:
"We didn't play well tonight, we're kidding ourselves, we were way off it, no energy, no enthusiasm and no tempo to our play.

"If you start like that it takes some recovering, and the only bonus was that were weren't a goal or two down at half-time.

"Second half we were a little bit better, we were well in the game and it was both teams cancelling each other out, although we had a fantastic opportunity to win it with a minute or so left.

"I had to go absolutely berserk at half-time to get something of a reaction."
