Wrexham 3-0 Luton Town

Gareth Taylor helped ease the pressure on under-fire boss Dean Saunders as his double inspired Wrexham to their first win in four Blue Square Premier games.

The former Wales striker opened the scoring from the penalty spot against relegated Luton after Claude Gnakpa's foul on Wrexham striker Marc Williams.

Taylor's sixth of the season doubled the lead when his header from Silvio Spann's cross looped in from 15 yards.

Mark Jones completed the 3-0 win late on after good work by Curtis Obeng.

Wrexham manager Dean Saunders said:

"We worked hard and scored early on, which helped, and the second really helped and I thought we could have got eight or nine, or maybe 10 with the chances we missed.

"I'm just happy with the three points as Luton are a tough team but I'm pleased as the players worked hard and did what I asked them.

"It took a bit of juggling around and we've tried a few formulas now hopefully we can carry that on. Luck, confidence and a bit of organisation is a big part of football.

"In the league, that is perhaps the most cohesive and organised we've looked for some time - but the most important thing is the three points."
