Rushden extended their unbeaten league run to five games as they dented Ebbsfleet's play-off hopes with a win.

Jon Challinor put the visitors ahead against the run of play early on, picking the ball up just inside the area and rifling into the top corner.

Stacy Long and John Akinde wasted chances for Ebbsfleet before Michael Rankine finished from close range.

They wrapped up the points in stoppage time when Conal Platt laid a pass into Lee Tomlin's path for him to slot home.
