Dussuyer reappointed Guinea coach

Frenchman Michel Dussuyer has been appointed as coach of Guinea for the second time.

The former goalkeeper previously took charge of the Syli Nationale between 2002 and 2004.

The 50-year-old also helped Guinea reach the quarter-finals of the 2004 Africa Cup of Nations in Tunisia.

Dussuyer led Benin to the 2010 Nations Cup in Angola, but was sacked after the Squirrels were knocked out in the first round of the competition.

The secretary general of the Guinea Football Federation, Fode Capi Camara said Dussuyer has been given the job of qualifying the team for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations finals in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

Guinea are in Group 2 of the qualifiers alongside Nigeria, Ethiopia and Madagascar, with only the group winners guaranteed a place in the finals.

Camara added that was chosen ahead of five other European coaches; Henri Michel, Jacques Santini, Pierre Lechantre, Franco Baresi, Jean-Marc Furlan and Hubert Velud.

Dussuyer replaces Mamadi Souare whose short stay with Syli Nationale ended after the team's failure to qualify for the 2010 Nations Cup.
