Cameroon leapfrog Ghana

Cameroon at the 2008 Cup of Nations
Cameroon are now the top ranked team in Africa

Cameroon have become the top-ranked side in Africa in the latest list issued by football's world governing body, Fifa.

They have moved up three places in the rankings to 13th overall, thus overhauling Ghana.

The Black Stars have dropped two places, to 16th in the world.

African champions Egypt have also moved up the table - they are now 23rd, a move of seven places.

Globally Argentina are still the top ranked side, and have extended their lead over Brazil even though they have not played a game in the latest period.

Fifa's ranking system takes into account current performance, with previous results gradually reducing in importance.
