Nigeria's Flying Eagles have qualified for the final of the World Youth Championship in Holland after beating Morocco 3-0 in Kerkrade.
Olympique Marseille defender Taye Taiwo scored the opening goal in the 34th minute, with Olubayo Adefemi and Chinedu Ogbuke consolidating the lead after 70 and 75 minutes respectively.
Taiwo latched onto a pass from Adefemi and unleashed a 25-metre drive that beat Moroccan keeper Mohammed Bourkadi.
It was the third straight game Taiwo had forced a decision
for Nigeria.
He converted the decisive penalty in the 24-shot penalty shoot-out against the Netherlands in the quarter-finals and he tallied the late winner against Ukraine in the second round.
Adefemi's subsequent strike came off a corner taken by John Mikel Obi.
With Morocco's defense in disarray, Isaac Promise ran through their central defence and hit a fierce shot, which was deflected by Bourkadi into the path of Ogbuke, who headed in the third.
Nigeria, who last reached the final of the World Youth Championship in 1989, will face Argentina in Saturday's title decider in Utrecht.
The Argentines beat their great Latin American rivals Brazil 2-1 in the other semi-final.
Argentina will be seeking their fourth title, having won in 1995, 1997 and 2001.
"It is going to be very difficult in the final but we
have a 50-50 chance," Nigerian coach Samson Siasia said.
