Burkina Faso to get coach
The Burkina Faso national team
Burkina Faso are set to get a new coach
Serbian coach Ivica Todorov has arrived in the Burkina Faso to finish off negotiations to become the new coach of the national team, according to the local media.

Todorov arrives from Morocco where he coached both Maghreb Fes and Wydad Casablanca last year.

The 54-year-old has also worked in Gabon, Tunisia, the Middle East and France, where he was also a player.

He will replace the Frenchman Jean-Paul Rabier, who was sacked after the African Cup of Nations in Tunisia earlier this year.

Todorov will have one month to prepare his side for the start of the 2006 World Cup and Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Burkina Faso are in Groups Two and their first match is at home to Ghana on 5 June.

The Cape Verde Islands, the DR Congo, South Africa and Uganda make up the rest of the group.
