King confident on promotion goal

Andy King
King's winner against Plymouth was his first goal of the season

Leicester City midfielder Andy King says there is a firm belief that the team can maintain their fine start to the season and win promotion.

The Foxes lie third in the Championship table following King's last-minute goal in the 1-0 victory over Plymouth.

He told BBC Radio Leicester their good start was no fluke: "At the start of the season we said there's no reason we can't be up there and we've done that.

"We're enjoying our football and that's right because we should be."

But youth-team product King said manager Nigel Pearson was keen to keep things in perspective.

"It's still so early in the season and the gaffer won't let us carried away with anything," King said.

"But we are really pleased with how things have gone so far. We couldn't really have hoped for a better start."

Leicester are next in action on Saturday when they are away against struggling Scunthorpe.
