Eriksson can start search for job
England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson
Sven-Goran Eriksson is ready to listen to new job offers
Sven Goran Eriksson will be allowed to line up his next job before quitting England after the World Cup - with the blessing of the Football Association.

Eriksson says his departure will cost the FA nothing if he secures another post as soon as his reign is over.

FA chief executive Brian Barwick says Eriksson will be allowed to look for another job in what he described as a "manageable situation".

Eriksson said: "If I want to negotiate I have my agent."

He added: "In football you don't phone clubs or countries and say `can I come and work for you'. They offer you the job.

"I can assure you that I will not be sitting talking to anyone when we are playing football. It will not disturb the preparation for the World Cup over the next five months.

"I want to stay in football, I want to be a manager in a club or country. The most important thing is that it is a good team with a chance to achieve something important.

"But I don't have any offers at the moment. If I want to stay in football though, I can't wait until 10 July , that is obvious."

Barwick insists that the FA is prepared to work around the situation to help Eriksson get a job and prevent them having to pay the departing coach any compensation.

"It is a manageable situation," he said.
