Silkmen hand duo trials
Former Notts County midfielder Michael Brough
Brough has made 14 appearances for Notts County this term
Macclesfield have taken Notts County midfielder Michael Brough and Aston Villa's Jonathan Bewers on trial.

Brough, 22, has been told he can leave County after making over 100 appearances for the club.

The former Wales under-21 star has not had his weekly contract renewed by new County boss Gary Mills.

Defender Bewers, 21, has made just one substitute's appearance in the Premiership for Villa but has been a regular in their table-topping reserve side.

Macclesfield boss John Askey was hoping to include the pair in Wednesday's reserve-game at Carlisle.
