Marriott joins Birmingham
Andy Marriott
Marriott began his career at Arsenal
Barnsley goalkeeper Andy Marriott has signed a deal with Birmingham City until the end of the season.

The Premiership club has been looking for an experienced keeper since number one choice Nico Vaesen suffered a serious knee ligament injury in the derby against Aston Villa.

The former Wales international, who joins for a nominal fee, will provide cover for the long-serving stopper Ian Bennett

Marriott, 32, began his career as an Arsenal trainee before permanent transfers to Nottingham Forest, Wrexham and Sunderland.

He spent a spell on loan at Oakwell before making the switch from the Stadium of Light permanent in May 2001.
