Port Vale 2-1 Stoke
Marc Bridge-Wilkinson was the hero of Vale Park as he netted a 105th-minute penalty to see off Potteries neighbours Stoke in the LDV Vans Trophy.

Vale booked a meeting with Lincoln in a two-leg Northern Final after Bridge-Wilkinson fired a low shot inside Birkir Kristinsson's right-hand post.

The spot-kick followed a handball by Nicky Mohan.

Vale had taken a deserved lead in the 64th minute when Michael Cummins drove through a crowded penalty area from an Alex Smith cross.

But Stoke forced extra-time when Mohan crashed home a left-wing cross from Wayne Thomas with just three minutes of normal time remaining.

Port Vale: Goodlad, Cummins, Walsh, Carragher, Burton, Smith, Brammer, Brisco, Bridge-Wilkinson, Brooker, Naylor. Subs: Delaney, Widdrington, Burns, Viljanen, Eyre.

Stoke: Kristinsson, Petty, Thomas, Mohan, Kippe, Clarke, Risom, Kavanagh, Thordarson, Thorne, Goodfellow. Subs: Gunnarsson, Gudjonsson, Muggleton, Neal, Cooke.

Referee: M Messias (York)
