Wicketkeeper Geraint Jones demands better Kent display

Kent wicketkeeper Geraint Jones says he and the rest the team have to play better after their disappointing return to the top flight of the championship.

Kent were beaten by an innings and 32 runs by Nottinghamshire inside three days at Trent Bridge.

"The batters have got to score more runs. As for the bowlers - we can't go for nearly five runs an over," Jones told BBC Radio Kent.

"You just won't win games like that. Everyone has to look at themselves."

Jones added: "I wasn't happy with the way I kept wicket first game up.

"Fielding was a bit of an issue for us and I have to lead the way.

"I think we all have to look our game and step that up leading into the rest of the season."

Kent have made just one change to the side that lost at Notts for their game against Yorkshire at Canterbury - James Hockley replaces Phil Edwards.

Once again they will have a weakened bowling attack as Simon Cook and Robbie Joseph are still recovering from injury.

The good news is that James Tredwell is available to play. The England spinner was due to miss the game before linking up with the rest of England's World Twenty20 squad, but their departure has been delayed until Sunday.
