Hampshire opening batsman Jimmy Adams has agreed a new three-year deal with the county that will see him remain at The Rose Bowl until 2013.

Last season Adams became the first batsman to score 600 runs in a domestic Twenty20 season and finished the competition's highest run-scorer.

The 29-year-old also notched up more than 1,300 runs in the Championship.

"Hampshire is my home so I'm very happy to be signing a new deal at The Rose Bowl," he told the club website.

Adams leaves for Australia next month as part of the England performance squad and will go on to play for the Auckland Aces in New Zealand's domestic T20 competition.
