Dirk Nannes celebrates the wicket of Worcestershire captain Vikram Solanki - his 99th in Twenty20 cricket

Australian Dirk Nannes became the first man to take 100 Twenty20 wickets as Nottinghamshire opened their FP t20 campaign with victory at Worcester.

Nannes brought up the milestone by removing Worcestershire captain Vikram Solanki and Phil Jacques in the space of three balls in his second over.

Worcestershire never recovered and only Gareth Andrew hitting the last three balls all for six got them to 113-9.

Alex Hales then hit 66 not out as Notts cruised home by six wickets on 114-4.

Despite Hales hitting nine fours and two sixes in his 49-ball knock, it was left to Chris Read to hit the winning boundary with fully six overs left to cap an impressive all-round performance by the visitors.

Indeed, their only real blips in the whole game were 23 coming off the last over bowled by Paul Franks and the loss of Matthew Wood and Samit Patel in successive balls to leg-spinner Steven Smith.

But the foundations to a comprehensive win were laid by left-arm paceman Nannes, whose impressive form for the Netherlands and in the Indian Premier League resulted in him playing for Australia in last month's ICC World Twenty20 final.

After softening up Solanki in his first over, Nannes knocked back his off stump at the start of his second, before having Jacques caught by Hales running round at mid-wicket.

The Notts attack refused to release their grip, with Steven Mullaney taking 3-12 and Ryan Sidebottom taking a catch off his own bowling and two in the deep as Worcestershire limped along.

Only Andrew's late blast helped the home side past 100 but it never looked like being enough.
