Rain ruins Middlesex-Lancs clash

Middlesex 112-3 - Match abandoned
(Middlesex 1pt, Lancs 1pt)

NatWest Pro40

Persistent rain at Lord's forced the Pro40 match between Middlesex and Lancashire to be abandoned after less than 27 overs.

After Lancashire won the toss, Middlesex opener Nick Compton hit an unbeaten 52 to help the home side to 112-3 when the weather intervened.

He shared a third-wicket stand of 52 with John Simpson (22).

Paceman Saj Mahmood picked up 2-14 on his return from an intercostal injury, but the rain was the winner.
