Hollioake smokes Hawks
Twenty20 Cup, The Rose Bowl: Surrey 140-9 (20 overs) beat Hampshire 121 all out (20 overs) by 19 runs

Skipper Adam Hollioake completed the best bowling figures of the Twenty20 Cup to keep Surrey's perfect record intact with a 19-run win over Hampshire.

The Lions' batsmen suffered a hangover after securing a semi-final place on Monday, with only three reaching double figures in a total of 140-9.

But Hollioake led the destruction with 5-21, helped by a miserly 2-11 in four overs from martin Bicknell, to bowl the hosts out for 121, inflicting their fourth defeat of the tournament.

Hollioake's figures bettered those of rested team-mate James Ormond, who jointly held the previous best of 5-26 with Richard Logan of Notts.

Similarly, only three Hawks batsmen passed 10, Simon Katich leading the way with 45 off 49 balls.

A 75-run opening stand between Scott Newman and Alistair Brown was squandered by Surrey, and James Hamblin led the bowling with 3-31.

Brown's dismissal for 33, bowled by Dimitri Mascaranehas, sparked the collapse, despite Newman's attempts to marshall the innings with a run-a-ball 59.

Hampshire: J R C Hamblin, D A Kenway, S M Katich, J P Crawley (Capt), L R Prittipaul, N Pothas (Wkt), A D Mascarenhas, Wasim Akram, W S Kendall, A D Mullally, E S H Giddins.
