Guernsey suffered their first ICC WCL Division Seven loss with Wednesday's 25-run defeat by Bahrain at the KGV. After electing to bat Bahrain posted 257-9 off their 50 overs, Ashraf Yaqoob top scoring with 101, putting on 178 in partnership with Adil Hanif. Guernsey made 232-9 in reply, Jeremy Frith top scoring on 65, while skipper Stuart Le Provost hit 47 off 40 balls. "I think we lost a little bit of momentum in the middle of our batting innings," Le Prevost told BBC Guernsey.
"We put up a good fight and were only 20 runs short at the end so that's only two or three good overs. "Bahrain are a good side and you're not going to come into these competitions and get walkovers." Guernsey had earned victories over Gibraltar and Japan in their first two fixtures.
