New Zealand finished their one-day series against India on a high with a comprehensive eight-wicket victory.

Jesse Ryder made a half-century and took three wickets as New Zealand wrapped up the rain-affected match with almost 20 overs to spare in Auckland.

Ryder took 3-29 as the Kiwis dismissed India for 149 before scoring 63 from 49 balls as the Black Caps raced to victory in 23.2 overs.

New Zealand's win was a consolation, with India winning the series 3-1.

Ryder, who plundered six fours and four sixes, shared a second-wicket stand of 84 with Martin Guptill after the early loss of Brendon McCullum.

In a match reduced by rain from 50 to 43 overs per side, it was Guptill who hit the winning runs at Eden Park.

Guptill took 10 from two balls to record 57 off 50 balls and wrap up the match with Ross Taylor unbeaten on 28.
