Lara sees advantage of qualifying
Lara and Samuels celebrate
West Indies beat Bangladesh by 10 wickets in Jaipur
Captain Brian Lara believes both West Indies and Sri Lanka will benefit from having come through the ICC Champions Trophy qualifying rounds.

The two sides meet on Saturday to decide which groups they will play in.

"We welcome these matches - it's very important. The game on Saturday is going to be very competitive.

"I feel the two teams leaving this part of the tournament can go far because of the competitiveness over the last couple of weeks," said Lara.

The Caribbean side were ruthless in handing Bangladesh a 10-wicket defeat on Thursday, having taken a total of just 45 overs to overcome Zimbabwe earlier in the week.

And Lara added: "We're shaping up pretty well heading for the match on Saturday."

The winners of Saturday's game in Mumbai go into Group B of the full competition, alongside New Zealand, Pakistan and South Africa.

World Cup holders Australia, hosts India and England await the side that finishes second in qualifying.

Meanwhile Bangladesh face Zimbabwe in Jaipur on Friday with captain Habibul Bashar admitting: "We need to win that game for our pride."

After a collapse from 95-1 against West Indies, Bashar said: "It's really not acceptable. We were on our way to a good total then were bowled out for 161.

"They were right on target with their bowling but we also played across the line."
