Commonwealth Games 2010: Bronze for Cann in Delhi

Jersey badminton star Elizabeth Cann
Cann has won the English National women's singles title four times

Elizabeth Cann has won bronze for England in the women's badminton singles, beating Scotland's Susan Egelstaff in the third-place play-off.

The 31-year-old grew up in Jersey and has represented the Island at the previous three Commonwealth Games.

Cann, who lost to Malaysia's Mew Choo Wong in the semi-finals, beat Egelstaff by 21-18 21-16.

By winning bronze, Cann becomes the first Islander to pick up an individual Commonwealth Games medal since 1990.
