Carl Froch happy to fight in Danish city of Herning

World champion boxer Carl Froch says he is happy to fight Mikkel Kessler in the Danish city of Herning in April.

Froch had said he would rather face the Dane in Copenhagen, making it easier for his supporters to travel.

But, having visited Herning this week, Froch has told BBC Radio Nottingham that he has had a change of heart.

"The venue's brilliant, and literally five minutes away is the town of Herning with bars and restaurants, so I think the fans will be happy," he said.

Froch faces Kessler in his second fight in the Super Six Boxing Classic, having out-pointed Andre Dirrell in Nottingham in October, while the Dane was beaten by Andre Ward in California the following month.

The Nottingham boxer has also denied that he will be at a disadvantage by fighting abroad for only the third time in his career.

"I'm well-travelled, I know what's expected of me and I know what to do," Froch added.

"When I step into that ring, it doesn't matter where it is. It could be in Denmark, in Connecticut (where he retained his WBC belt), or the Nottingham Forest ground (the football team he supports), it doesn't make any difference to me.

"The result will be the same, because I bring my 'A' game with me to the ring every time I fight."
