Hatton inspired by Vegas venue
Ricky Hatton and Floyd Mayweather
I'm gonna show Hatton that he can't come into my house and try to take what's mine

Mayweather on Hatton
Ricky Hatton says it will be a dream come true to take on Floyd Mayweather at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on 8 December.

The welterweight bout was confirmed at the start of August and the Grand has now been named as the venue.

"It's always been a dream of mine to fight at the MGM Grand and now I'll finally get my chance," said Hatton.

"The Grand has been the home to so many great fights. To fight him there will push me to live up to such a legacy."

The American will start as hot favourite for the bout despite coming out of retirement for it.

Both fighters are unbeaten, but Mayweather, who has previously taunted Hatton over his weight, insists Hatton will go away a beaten man.

"The MGM Grand is like a second home to me and I'm going to make my fifth appearance here my most spectacular and memorable," he said.

"I'm gonna show Hatton that he can't come into my house and try to take what's mine."

Hatton previously told BBC Radio 5live he was not concerned by the American's jibes and would be happy to silence him in the ring.

"Soon the talk stops and we'll be in the ring," he said.

"In Vegas I did not meet anyone with a good word to say for him. The way he disrespects fighters, it's no wonder everyone wants me to knock him out."

Mayweather has promised Hatton a "rude awakening", but the 28-year-old Mancunian insists he is happy to let the American talk as much as he wants before the fight.

"It is all water off a duck's back to me," he said.

"He says the same about every fighter - I don't think he's been respectful to a fighter in his life.

"He has been bad mouthing me for months, even before the fight was signed, but I don't think anybody takes any notice of him anymore. I'll just put the ear-plugs in and let him get on with it.

"It really doesn't bother me at all. When you beat someone like that it makes it all the sweeter.

"The fact is, I don't think he liked me coming out to Las Vegas - his home town - last time out with 10,000 of my own fans and putting on a great show and earning a great win against Jose Luis Castillo. He didn't like that and has come out of retirement."

"Regardless of what I think of him as a person, as a fighter he is second to none. But ability and speed is only good against someone who lets you use it, so anyone who says I haven't got a chance doesn't know what they're talking about.

"I've got a massive chance."
