Johnson eyes Tarver titles
Glencoffe Johnson
IBF light heavyweight champion Glen Johnson could take on WBC and WBA title holder Antonio Tarver after his ninth-round knockout of Roy Jones Jr.

As Jones was being taken to hospital, the Jamaican allowed Tarver to muscle in on his post-fight interview.

"We've got to sell tickets, brother," said Tarver, adding: "You can't get paid sitting here as the nice guy - we've got to get this thing started.

"You've got a piece of my championship and I'm coming for it."

Tarver paid his respects to Jones, who has earned his status as one of the greatest fighters of his era, but ruled him out of the light heavyweight picture.

"I want to see the man go on and enjoy his life after boxing," he said.

"We don't need to see Roy Jones go through the things he went through here and on 15 May.

"Let the man ride off into the sunset."

Johnson, who has 41 victories and nine losses to his name, also gave his well wishes to the man he had concussed.

"I hope the best for Jones and that he's not hurt," he said.

"I'll fight anybody else. It don't matter."
