Froch claims title
Carl Froch claimed the Commonwealth super middleweight title with a points victory over Ghana's Charles Adamu in Nottingham on Friday.

Froch made it 12 wins from 12 professional bouts as he overpowered the Ghanaian in his home city.

Adamu was short of confidence after losing to Vitali Tsypko in February, and Froch piled on the misery.

Adamu was a replacement opponent for Liverpool's Tony Dodson, who was forced to pull out through injury.

"Once I got started I was always going to win," said Froch.

"I was backing him down and now I'm going to go for the British title which, to be honest, means that little bit more to me."

The pair are now expected to meet later this year, when Froch, 26, will enter the ring with the Commonwealth belt hanging around his waist.
