Great Britain's Lisa Dobriskey made it through to the final of the 1500m with a measured semi-final run at the World Championships in Berlin.

The 25-year-old Commonwealth champion from Kent finished third in four minutes 03.84secs.

Fellow Briton Michael Rimmer missed out on an 800m final place as he finished seventh in his semi in 1:46.77.

Michael Bingham came seventh in the 400m final, while Emily Freeman was also seventh in the 200m final.

"It's not that I ran badly but the fact that being in the eighth lane throws you out," said the 23-year-old Bingham after finishing in 45.56.

"I tried to go off fast but when I looked at the screen I could see people were gaining. It's my first year as a professional athlete, I have championships ahead of me and this won't happen again."

Freeman had set a personal best of 22.64 to reach the final but clocked 22.98 from lane two in the final.

"I was tired and tense at the start but I am pleased to get to the final and I would have taken that and a personal best before I came here," she said.

Dobriskey was only eighth at the bell in the 1500m semi-final but moved through the field to finish third.

"I'm really pleased, I really wanted to make the final," she said. "Just to be here is such a big achievement for me, but you always want that bit more, you always want to achieve your potential.

"In the past I would have been really grateful to make the final, but now it's sort of expected. I like to think I can win a medal.

"My performances and training have really come together, I've got that fitness back and I'm able to string sessions together consecutively."

Great Britain's men made it through the heats of the 4x100m relay as Simeon Williamson, Tyrone Edgar, Marlon Devonish and Harry Aikines-Aryeetey set the second best time of 38.11.

But Mervyn Luckwell went out of the javelin with a throw of 66.30m in qualifying.
