British archer Simon Terry clinched silver in the men's recurve event at the FITA World Cup Grand Final.

But Britain's other finalist Nicky Hunt missed out on a medal in the women's compound after losing in the play-off for bronze in Copenhagen.

Terry lost 108-105 to Athens Olympic champion Marco Galiazzo of Italy.

He trailed 55-50 at the halfway stage and although he cut the gap to two points with three arrows to go, the Italian held on for victory.

"It has been a fantastic achievement by Simon, and he can hold his head high," said Archery GB Performance Director Sara Symington.

"In the end he lost a thrilling match to another world class archer in Marco, and it could have gone either way but he will benefit from this experience, and so too will British archery."

Hunt lost 115-111 to Croatia's Ivana Buden for bronze after losing to eventual champion Luzmary Guedez of Venezuela in the semi-finals.

Symington added: "Nicky's had a fantastic year, and winning a medal at this event would have capped it off in style.

"But she's reached the world top five, and having tasted the glitz and glamour of the World Cup Final, I know she will come back even more fired up next year. She works very hard, and deserves everything she achieves."
