Henry Paul
Henry Paul

  • With his brother Robbie, Henry Paul is one of the best-known names in rugby league. Both play for Super League team Bradford Bulls.

  • New Zealander Henry has been playing for the Bulls since 1998. Before that he played for Wakefield Trinity and then Wigan Warriors. His position is stand-off.

  • His full name is Henry Rangi Paul - 'Rangi' means 'Heaven' in English - while his nickname is Sauce!

  • Henry learned how to play rugby at school in New Zealand. He played for a number of teams in NZ, including the team he supported as a child, Te Atatu Roosters, before joining Wigan in 1992.

  • The Paul brothers are a talented pair. Last year they released a single with their band Massey, named after a town in New Zealand. They played a couple of dates at the end of 2000 and plan to release a new single and album in 2001. They also released a cover version of 'Ain't no stopping us now' in 1999.

  • He has had an incredibly successful career. Besides playing for his country, he's won the Challenge Cup with both Bradford and Wigan, was Grand Final runner-up with the Bulls, and Premiership and Super League Final winner with the Warriors.

  • Away from rugby league, Henry enjoys playing golf, tennis and basketball. He also likes music and computers.
