What is Passion for Sport? Passion for Sport is a BBC SPORT initiative designed to reward young people aged between 11 and 16 for their enthusiasm for sport, whether it's by playing, watching or helping others to enjoy it. We'd like you to demonstrate this as creatively as you can, using a range of media including photography, illustration, written word, email, website, video or audio tape. What is the scheme aiming to achieve? Our aim is to encourage interest and involvement in sports and PE activities amongst all secondary school age children, irrespective of their ability. Do I have to be good at sport to enter? No, not necessarily! It's your enthusiasm for sport that's the important thing. You might be coaching others, helping out in a voluntary capacity or supporting a team. You tell us! Who are you looking for? An independent panel of qualified PE teachers will judge the competition. They'll be looking for 11 to 16-year-olds who demonstrate an outstanding all-round passion for sport. How do you expect schools or clubs to be involved in the entry process? By having entry forms available for any of their pupils in the age range who want to enter, and by putting up posters to promote the scheme. This is the only involvement required. What is the closing date? Your entry must be with us by 12 April 2001. If you're one of our winners, you will be notified in writing by 30 June 2001. Can I send my entry in an email? One of the entry categories is by email. But it's very important that you include in your email all the information asked for on the entry form - your name, age, school, region code etc. If you have any other questions, email us at passionforsport@bbc.co.uk |
