Blacklock has been the NRL's top tryscorer for three consecutive seasons, a feat not achieved since the 1920s.
But he has been routinely snubbed by selectors at representative level because of perceived weaknesses in defence.
Now he has the chance to cement a place in the side following the departure of World Cup wingers Wendell Sailor and Mat Rogers to rugby union.
A dynamic speedster, Blacklock's strength is his ability to lurk around behind the big men in the ruck and snap up any off-loads.
