Twickenham Stadium, Middlesex

More famous as the home of Rugby Union Twickenham will host one of the Rugby League World Cup fixtures when England take on Australia on 28 October.

In 1996 Wigan went down to Twickenham and won the Middlesex Sevens. A few weeks later they were beaten there by Bath at Union in the second leg of the cross-code challenge having won the League encounter at Maine Road, Manchester by a wide margin.

It would have been unthinkable at one stage for League to take place at Twickenham, but in the modern era anything is possible.
