![]() BBC Sport racing expert Richard Pitman gives an insight into the track which hosts the three-day Cheltenham Festival.
There are only two types of jumps used during the meeting - hurdles are smaller at 3ft 6ins, with fences a foot higher.
Their composition, strength and siting pose very different problems for jockeys and horses.
There are also two different courses - the old one used for the first two days and the new one saved for the last day.
So the rider has to know the idiosyncrasies if he is to survive the tests, let alone win one or more of 20 races on offer.
