Gearbox

Six or seven gears, which are changed via paddles on the steering wheel. The gears switch at about 0.1s.

The clutch is only used by the drivers at the start, or to prevent the car stalling if the driver spins. From then one once on track, the clutch is controlled electronically.

From the Spanish Grand Prix in April, gearchanges can be fully automatic.
