Tiger Woods will be going for his third successive USPGA title, though his last two victories have been by the slenderest of margins.
He beat Sergio Garcia by one shot at Medinah in 1999 and last year at Valhalla he beat Bob May in a three-hole play-off. In the last two Majors Woods has dipped below his usual high standards. He tied for 25th at The Open and tied 12th at the US Open, so he may not be as strong a favourite as he was going into the USPGA Championship last year. |
