For 30 years this was Mali's only venue for major events.
It is part of a sports complex which includes an olympic size swimming pool and basketball arena. All are now showing their age, despite renovation. The stadium nestles against the cliffs that flank the north edge of the capital. It is on the north bank of the Niger, close to the Presidential Palace and the city centre. |
