Bombay
5th ODI, 3rd February
Bombay, as every cricket fan knows, is Sachin Tendulkar's home town. The pitch has traditionally been full of runs, but seaside breezes can assist seamers in the morning, while spinners get some joy during the last couple of days.
In Tests, India can boast a decent record at the Wankhede stadium, which seats 45,000. But one match that did not go the way of the home side was the Jubilee Test in 1980.
England won by 10 wickets, yet the Test could have gone the other way but for the generosity of Indian captain Viswanath.
He persuaded umpire Rao into reversing a caught behind verdict against Bob Taylor, who then completed a critical 171-run stand with Ian Botham.
The highest score in a one-day international achieved here was, oddly, in a 40-over match when Mohammad Azharuddin tore Sri Lanka apart with 108 in 94 balls.
The total of 299 sent India on their way to six victories in 10 ODIs played at the Wankhede Stadium.
