Hooker Dixon points to career low

Bath hooker Pieter Dixon says the defeat against Newcastle last weekend was his lowest point since he arrived at the Recreation Ground in 2005.

"For me personally it was the biggest disappointment of my career at Bath," Dixon told BBC Radio Bristol.

"Against Newcastle we just weren't good enough and we know that and we're going to have to pull our socks up to get a good victory at the weekend."

Bath have one win this season and face league leaders Saracens on Saturday.

Dixon, 32, added: "They're going to come down to the Rec full of confidence but we know what we've got to do and we've got the players, we really do."

"It's a really good opportunity for us to get our season back on track and we have a big point to prove.

"We're lucky with the Bath crowd that they stick by a team and they're still really positive.

"Obviously we let them down against Newcastle and we want to make sure we rectify that and give them a good day," said the Zimbabwean-born hooker.

He added: "With the EDF cup games coming up we are going to be playing a lot of the younger players.

"We would love to come off this stage of Premiership games with a win."
