County ins & outs

Stay up-to-date with the latest player releases, signings and speculation from all the counties as they prepare for the 2010 season.

In a change to the regulations, counties will be allowed to field two overseas players in the Twenty20 Cup in 2010, but only one in the County Championship and ECB 40 League.

KPK: Kolpak contract, REL: released, RET: retired, YTH: from youth teams, EUP: European Union passport, UKP: recently-obtained UK passport. Also shows, where relevant, players' previous counties

Kolpak contracts are signed by foreign players, using a loophole in European Union law to avoid counting against the quota of one overseas player per club.

Meanwhile, Hampshire are seeking a second overseas player for the Twenty20 Cup and have refused to rule out re-signing Shane Warne, although chairman Rod Bransgrove insists they have other options.

Possible signings: McLaren, who has relinquished his Kolpak status by returning to the Eagles in South Africa, could yet find himself back at Canterbury next summer as an overseas player. However, Paul Farbrace is reportedly keen to bring in a "non-IPL Sri Lankan."

Other news: Scott's loan deal may run until July when teenage wicketkeeper Ben Scott is free of school commitments, but Middlesex have the option to recall him if number one keeper John Simpson is injured or loses form.
