Davids chance as Lescinel leaves

Jean-Francois Lescinel joins Falkirk
Lescinel spent a short, controversial spell with Falkirk

Aberdeen have ended their interest in former Falkirk defender Jean-Francois Lescinel but given Sefanja Davids another chance to win a contract.

Davids - the nephew of former Dutch international Edgar - was at Pittodrie on trial in May and has now turned out in a pre-season friendly.

He and Dutch striker Dyon Camero came on as substitutes in Sunday's 2-1 defeat by FC Zwolle.

But Lescinel has been sent home after missing the game through injury.

The 22-year-old Haiti international, who started his career with Paris Saint Germain, spent a controversial four-month spell with Falkirk in 2006 before going absent without permission and leaving the club having made just 10 appearances.

He had most recently been playing for French Ligue 2 outfit Guingamp.

Meanwhile, Camero, a 19-year-old who has been playing for FC Zutphen, and 20-year-old Davids, previously of Feyenoord, will stay with Aberdeen for the rest of their time in the Netherlands in an attempt to win a contract.

Davids, who can play as a defender or defensive midfielder, came on against Zwolle, who are in the Dutch Second Division, when the Dons were leading 1-0 through a Gary McDonald goal, while Camero followed after the equaliser.

The two trialists could feature against Vitesse Arnhem on Wednesday, or Rietvogels the following day.
