NUMBERS ROLE UNITS INVOLVED
Soldiers: British troops 45,000 troops deployed in total of which around 26,000 sent to front line, a quarter of the British Army, including 1,400 paratroopers and the 7th Armoured Brigade In a war ground forces are used to capture and hold enemy land. Artillery: AS 90 self-propelled gun 32 AS 90 self-propelled guns and 18 light guns With a similar appearance to a tank, the AS 90 is a key piece of field artillery with a 155mm gun and a range of nearly 25 km, while the 105mm light guns have a range of 17km. They are used in concert with ground troops and tanks to enable offensive action
