Iran nuclear position clarified

The BBC has clarified a line in two TV reports on 20 January about the challenges facing US president George Bush over relations with Iran.

In response to complaints that the reports implied that Iran posed a "nuclear threat", diplomatic correspondent James Robbins said: "I accept that it would have been better to have said 'alleged nuclear threat'.

"I am sorry that my wording was not as precise as it could have been."
