BBC News 24 presenter
Matthew Amroliwala presents BBC News on Monday to Friday between 1100 and 1400 with Jane Hill.
In 1990 Matthew became a BBC network television correspondent.
He joined BBC News 24 in 1997 initially as a presenter of the evening programmes and later the late afternoon news programme.
He reported extensively from Northern Ireland during the time of the Shankill bombing, Greysteel and the first IRA ceasefire.
He also reported from Bosnia on the fall of Srebrenica and travelled throughout the Balkans during that conflict.
Matthew spent six months as the BBC's New York correspondent covering Waco, the mid-term elections, and a variety of stories out of America.
As political correspondent at Westminster in the run-up to the 1997 election, Matthew was the BBC's correspondent travelling with the Liberal Democrats throughout the six week campaign.
